Her Ontario teaching certificate is at the junior-intermediate level (gr 4-10). She has taught preschool as well as all the ES and MS grades. Lisa began her teaching career in Canada teaching a split gr 7/8 class in a very small rural school, then she moved to grade 1. After that she discovered the world of international schools starting in Colombia teaching grade 4 at Colegio KCP in Barranquilla. Then the Mancuso family moved to the Middle East, spending 7 years in Saudi Arabia at ISG Dhahran Academy where Lisa first served as the ES Science Specialist running a hands-on science program for PS-Gr.6 before moving back to the classroom, teaching grade 4. The next location saw Lisa working at ACS Amman which is in Jordan, where she spent 8 years teaching grade 5. Lisa has an International Schools Math Coaching certificate and she has taken numerous courses in literacy including both the Reading and Writing Workshop training from Teachers College. Lisa brings a wide variety of teaching experiences and training to the new position of Curriculum Coordinator at CIPLC. She continues to work with students as the advisor of STUCO in the Elementary School, something she loves to do. In her free time, Lisa’s hobbies include catching up on current events and news around the world as well as improving her tennis skills, working out and enjoying the sunshine and many water activities that Puerto la Cruz offers. On top of it all, Lisa loves to show her GECKO spirit here at CIPLC!
