Emergency Protocols

In the event of temporary or long-term school closure, we are prepared to resume classes in an on-line format.  Parents and students will be notified via the school website (announcement on our home page), email, WhatsApp, and/or SMS text.  Teachers will communicate class assignments and responsibilities through the same avenues mentioned above.  The information below summarizes the learning plan during a school closure.

In the event of a school closure
Parents/Student Role

Even before the COVID pandemic, CIPLC  had developed and practiced alternative plans that would be implemented in the event of a school evacuation or prolonged closure.  The probability of a long-term closure is still very low, however, in order to maintain a high quality of education even when the campus is closed, are prepared for multiple challenging scenarios.

CIPLC Teachers and Staff have developed a plan to continue school on-line in the event that students cannot physically come to school.  This could be a closure of only a few days or much longer depending on the circumstances.

Parent and Students will need to take the following actions:

  1. Parents will keep school informed of current contact information.
  2. Plan to have students connected to the internet daily.  For young children in ECE- Grade 5, parents will need to be in daily contact with the teachers and assist their children with lessons.
  3. For initial instructions, monitor e-mail and WhatsApp and the school’s website, www.ciplc.org.
  4. Additional updates will be sent out via e-mail, SMS and/or WhatsApp.
  5. Teachers will be prepared to:
    • Send emails to all parents/students in their class (Teachers will have access to parent/student emails through Alma and the school’s e-mail system.)
    • Deliver class content digitally
    • Receive documents digitally
    • Give feedback digitally
