Student Council

The Student Council, or STUCO, is a representative structure for students, through which they can become more closely involved in the affairs of the school by working in partnership with school management, staff, and parents for the benefit of the school and its students. In STUCO a group of students take on the duty of representing the whole student body, and are responsible for voicing the needs, wants, and concerns of the student body to the faculty.

The Student Council has the responsibility for working with the staff and parents of the school, communicating and consulting with other students, involving students, planning and managing activities for the year, and promoting school spirit through STUCO organized activities, such as Spirit Days.

To be part of the Student Council one has to be willing to take on a great deal of responsibility, be creative, be an active member of school events and activities, and be willing to dedicate their time to this organization. The members of the Student Council must also demonstrate good citizenship and represent the school  through their positive behavior. The Student Council members play an important leadership and service role at CIPLC.

STUCO’s president, vice-president, treasurer, public relations, and secretary officers nominate themselves for their desired job, with the entire student body voting for their leaders in September. STUCO representatives are elected by their respective grade levels in August and September to serve for the rest of the school year. Once the Student Council members are elected, they meet in the Meeting Room every other Tuesday during advisory, where they plan future activities and events. Student Council sponsors a variety of events and spirit days for the students and the CIPLC community, such as the Arepazzo in September, pep rallies before sports tournaments, Color Games, and Spirit Days throughout the school year.
