Elementary After School Activities
Elementary School (1st Grade – 5th Grade) activities run on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:05 pm to 4:00 pm. Generally, activities run for one quarter (approximately 8 weeks) and often end with a culminating activity, tournament, or local games.
The activities offered are determined by a combination of teacher talents and interests and student interest. After-school activities do wonders for a child’s development. They’re linked to improving social skills, grades, overall coordination, sense of self, and improved relationships with adults other than their parents. Activities of all kinds can also give kids a chance to be themselves, free of the structure they face in a traditional class.
Although the activity offerings do vary from year to year some CIPLC activities that have been very consistent over the years are:
- Chess Club and Art Club
- Board Games and Cooking Club
- Arabic Dance, Yoga, and Kids Zumba
- Maker Space, Jewelry, and Lego Club
- Soccer, Basketball, Kickball, and Volleyball
- Paper Craft, Origami, and Cold Porcelain Charms
- Reading and Writing Club
- Study Club
- Creative Activities and Recreational Games
I am confident you will find the offerings this year to your satisfaction. If you do not, please ask yourself – “How can I help to make the activities program at CIPLC more rich and satisfactory for my child’s activity desires?” I am very aware of the value and importance of extracurricular enrichment for elementary-aged children (I have one girl in elementary myself!). I would love to hear your ideas on how CIPLC can help support them.
Sincerely,
